Me, Myself & I
Hello, my name is Tony Price.
I am a graphic designer living in Decatur, Georgia with my wife Jill, our son Milo and dog, Cuja.
Currently I am employed full-time and enjoying the wonders of becoming a new father. The world of art came to me quickly once I discovered that I could draw fairly well. Soon I was drawing anything and everything, but mostly GI Joe, Transformers and the like.
Once I started skateboarding with all the other kids in my neighborhood, my world was opened up to an entirely new universe of music and art through Thrasher Magazine and skate videos. I couldn't stop drawing the various Powell Peralta skulls, the H-Street logo and anything by Andy Howell. It was this love of imagery that attracted me to graphic design several years later.
I still love to draw, and I continue to incorporate that into design when deemed appropriate. Doing custom, hand-painted illustrations on canvas shoes was something I never would have imagined getting involved in, but I did, and I enjoy it as a break from the computer.
As for web design, it's been a strange journey. I went to school to become a graphic designer because I thought (mistakenly) that I could eventually be an editorial cartoonist through that degree (some bad advice from a college recruiter). I took a few basic web design classes sprinkled in amongst the rest and learned the basics of HTML, CSS and Flash. Since graduating in 2002, I have probably spent over 90% of my professional time doing web-related work. However, it has taken me a while to get into a lot of the ins-and-outs of being a modern web designer, such as semantic markup, good content and using stylesheets for layout (shedding tables was difficult, but I have survived). Still learning…
This website showcases mostly my non-web work in the form of posters, t-shirts, logos and custom shoes. If you have any questions, please drop me a line!
Thanks,
Tony

A few technologies that make this site work
The sweet fading slidewhow on the home page was pulled from Dynamic Drive using the Ultimate Fade-in slideshow (v2.1). No Flash™ was harmed in the making of this site.
That fancy zooming action when you click on a thumbnail (only on the Shoes page currently) is possible thanks to Cabel Sasser's FancyZoom 1.1.
Headline type is served up using @font-face, thanks to The League of Moveable Type and the excellent League Gothic typeface, available for commercial or personal use.
Layout for tonyxprice.com is based on a 12-column, 960 pixel grid. More info can be found here and here. Or just Google that shit.
Last, but not least—a global CSS reset is used, thanks to Eric Meyer's Global CSS Reset Reloaded.
Desktop software
Adobe Photoshop is used to optimize the images for the web, Coda is used for the codez that display it on your computer screen.
